If it is true, though, I wish that IObit or Anvisoft would simply just admit it. I have no idea, though, if that's really true. Because of all the bad press, it's possible that IObit may simply be tired of fighting the rumors and may have decided to rebrand themselves with a new name, i.e., Anvisoft. but many people have not forgotten about it and still say bad things about IObit in other forums. The issue is old news (or at least it should be), and I hate to bring it up. I think Malwarebytes may have set IObit up on that to make them look bad.
I think they undeservedly got a bad reputation early in the game, in some quarters, because of the Malwarebytes fiasco, but I was always on IObit's side. I love IObit products, and I have defended them on many forums. If they are, though, I don't see why Anvisoft is denying it, and I wish they would just come clean about it. However, I still have a strong suspicion that Anvisoft and IObit are somehow related. If that's true, then it, in my opinion, makes them look very bad - because they have obviously copied many things off of IObit. I was reading some of the posts over at the Anvisoft forum, and they are, currently, staunchly denying any affiliation with any other company, including IObit, and they claim that they built the product from ground up. I guess I'm not the only one that's noticed the strange similarities between the two products. Yeah, I read that, too! There are other discussions going on elsewhere, as well. is this company, Anvisoft, simply ripping you guys off and copying everything from you? I hope that isn't the case, but it sure looks like it.
Is this company related to IObit in some way, perhaps a new division or subsidiary? Or is IObit, perhaps, trying to rebrand itself with a new name? I can't figure out what the deal is, though. I haven't seen anyone talking about this yet on any of the IObit forums, so I thought I'd bring it to your attention. It also includes some cleaning and optimization features suspiciously similar to those in Advanced SystemCare (and again, with very similar wording). You'll see that they both have almost identical wording, a nearly identical look, and even worse, nearly identical screenshots! In fact, the more you poke around on their site, the more you'll see in common with IObit's.Īnd not only do the screenshots of the GUI for their product look nearly identical to yours, but Anvi Smart Defender also has the same exact features as IObit Malware Fighter, too (such as the same real-time protection guards, along with the same exact descriptions of how they work!). Now compare that to the Quick Start Guide for IObit Malware Fighter. It all looks just like IObit's!įor example: Check out their Quick Start Guide page: Upon going to their website, though, I immediately had a sense of déjà vu - because everything on their website looks, basically, just like IObit's! The design and layout of their website, the wording on their website, the descriptions of their products - EVERYTHING. I'm always curious and interested in new products, so I went to the company's website to check it out and to take a look at it.Īnyway, it's apparently made by some new company called Anvisoft.
I just saw this new product called Anvi Smart Defender being offered for download on CNET.
